Shipping now from Kato is the long awaited by me BNSF revised 9-44CW in H2 and a third number in warbonnet. Also the Amtrak ph3 baggage + step down coach set and F40PH. Kato's site now has updated pics of them.

OK OK links added. The Dash 9's lack warning labels like the gevo's though. Oh well.

Looks like a paint smudge, hope it's not on the whole production batch. Luckily I have a pair from the first run so I only need the bag, coach set.

Photos posted by Hobby Search don't show the black spot.

The "black smudge" is a little further to the right in each picture. It starts out a little to the left of the front wheel of the rear truck, is almost over it in the 2nd and is to the right in the 3rd. I'm not sure which is stranger: For it to occur or for Kato to post the picture.

Stripping? Isn't it available in undecorated or are there detail differences?

I'd say it's on Kato's camera lens because as I demonstrated a few posts back pictures put up by dealers who have taken them themselves don't show it. There have been occasional odd things in Kato photos like wheels off the track, I don't think they check them very closely before they post them.

Ah, how the hobby dollar will disappear with more Dash9's.

Comparing the pictures it doesn't look like something on the lense, but I can offer another theory - dirty fingers on the part of whoever put them on the track for the shots.

    GS-4s?

What has happened to the GS-4's? They were supposed to ship in Nov and I swear the Kato site listed them as shipping in Dec. Now the web site has change the GS-4 listing to "Updated" though I didn't see any update. Walthers still has them listed as "Unkown" for arrival. Just wondering when my Freedom Train 4449 will be about.

    thanks,

    Kevin

Thanks for the reminder, I just ordered all 3 of the -9's. Been waiting for the correct H2 for along time. Now all I need is some track to run them on......

My favorite Japanese dealer has had the AFT GS4 in stock for a while and has sold out of the Daylight 4449 and 4450.

Would you or someone provide more information? Were earlier -9 H2's incorrect? Are the new ones now correct?

    Thanks!

This is my take on it....The side cab windows was incorrect, 3 window vs. 4 window. Also the orange they used was different looking. Neither of those kept me from buying, was too damn trilled to have H2 -9's.
