    Thank's to all.

Today some views of the construction of the main face of the glass building. It is the ligther structure whitch hold the windows. An heavier will comme later to hold the entire building.

I start to realise to templates symmetrically opposed to create the structure. Here is the putting togever of the square of .080 :

More strips .030 have been put together (46 pieces in this structure)

Here you can see the face verticaly with the entrance :

Starting the structure "Heavy Duty" whitch hold the buiding. It is composed of horizontal .080 sqare strips and vertical 3/16" H columns. At this point there is 27 pieces on this heavy structure (73 part for the total face).

Some details. The ajustments betwin the light and the heavy structure need to be very precise.

Tomorrow i will start the reinforcement parts. To be continued ...

Your patience and drive are commendable! That's some intricate work there, and it is looking very nice! What glue are you using?

    Thank you [IMG]

Here is the construction of the base of the building: the base has got 2 levels with a ramp and a stair between the two.
It's realized in 2mm thick styrene sheet for hardness.

The future concrete is engraved with wide rectangles at 45° of angle.

Realization of the stairs. Stairs are difficult to realize because the size of the steps need to be very precise to looks good. Here the steps are adjusted at 1/10th mm:

JF, wonderful modeling, and the glass building will be impressive, it already is! But just what is it? A passenger depot, with light rail? Inquiring minds want to know! Can't wait to see it finished....

Thank's John and Otto ! :funny: These encouragements are very important for me to keep the motivativation to work on this long time project. There is so many work remaining.

That is a very good question. But i think it is little bit to early in the construction to answer directly on the tread;)

The building is based on a real prototype in Denver and i think it is a such well known building in the city. It is a very reconizable construction. I have to do some heavy adaptations to the prototype to match with my layout topography. The ground is a little bit more complex than in reality (euphemism). The elevated base is an addition that doen't exist on the real thing. But the building it self will have aproximatively the same shape of the prototype. I represent only the front of it. It is a back ground cutted building. I have to downsize a little bit too.

If someboddy find the building please dont write it there, please sent me a private massage, and i will be glad to confirm you if you have found !

Last clue : The code name of the building for me is Bcube (B^3). Bcube became a sort of symbol of Denver and Bcube will be on the model :)

    To john :

By building this complex architectural building, i have touch the dificulty of architertural model builder job !! I think these peoples have great skills to convert the drawing of architect in vomuled models.

The entrance, to point, of the eventual structure, and
the overall shape, also to a point, reminds me of the
    Colorado Convention Center, downtown Denver.
    Definitely interested to
see how this structure shapes up when done!!
    Looks great, and quite complex!!

    Many thank's all !

Biiiiiiingo KEITH ! [IMG] Happy to see that you have reconize it. I have choosen it because it's the only building in Denver witch Ligth Rail pass through. I think that it's a better way to hide the exit of the line than a classic tunnel entry.

But your rigth it is a little bit more complex to realize too ;). The real building have so many class ... i think it is one of nicest architectural building i have seen ! So it's a pleasure to try to model it.

code name => Bcube = B.B.B = Big Blue Bear

Been there, for Home and Garden shows, many a time, getting
there via light rail, or RTD bus, stopping under the north end of
the building! And entering through the main, front entrance, or
the side entrance, where trains and busses stop.

If adding the Big Blue Bear at some point, HOW do you place on doing that?
Or has that not been decided yet?? Interested to see!

    Many thank's !!

I just have finished the basement of the new building. It's take three weeks and 100 hours of work to put together and engrave the 179 pieces of this model.

It's in french, but you will see the globality of the basement. I think it is a better way to present this basement with a video because this model have a quite complex shape. I HD720p so you can watch it on utube in full screen.
    hope you will enjoy it.:funny:
