Did the Southern Pacific ever have a website just before the UP acquisition? Quite a few corporations had a web presence back in 1996, but not sure if the SP was one of them. If they did, does anyone know if the last version is archived somewhere?
I seem to vaguely recall one. I don't remember any details or anything like that. I was in Jr High and the best we had was 28.8 dial up. I want to say they did, just don't remember.
Ah okay. I really hope to see an archived version somewhere. I bet though it had "WELCOME TO THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC WEBSITE!" n flashing large bold letters, a picture of an AC4000W in Speed Lettering on the upper left corner and a faded grey tile background of the SP logo, with a visitor count display .gif on the bottom
I have a SP flier that lists a phone trace number and customer service numbers, but not a website, this is from the mid-1990's. I too would love to know if they had one.
Interesting, thanks. Although many companies, even if they already were on the Web in the mid '90s, didn't start marketing their websites until the late '90s.
I wouldn't think so. The merger was back in 1995. The internet started to catch on around that same time when MS released Windows 95 with their intergrated web browser.
