Greetings all. After much discussion, it seems that something is finally turning a wheel. Per Mark's handling of 3701,We'll link entries into this post.

    Whatr are we?

Trainboard Exchange, or TBX, is the reporting mark for the Trainboard Forums. TBX does lease fleet,s much like TTX. In the past, several exclusive fundraiser cars were sold under the TBX reporting marks in N and HO scales. Then last year, the N scale guyss got together and tossed around a TBX gondola to show off their layouts with a unified theme, and everyone took a different story to the car. (let's put it this way, 3401 is now firmly being tracked by MIB and several foriegn countries due to some times and places it's shown up...)

If you were interested in joining, then there's still time! Hit the link in my signature and get (back) in contact with us. Afterall, there's a long way to go for this thing.

Was the news announcement that had the world on it's head. TBX now had a second fully equipped base of operations and plans for further expansion. Being a railfan of the CMPA, this especially meant something, as this mysterious 8701 could be my first scoop. It surprised me, how tight-lipped SouthEastern was being though about the whole contract, and expecially this car. So in my days hunting about the grounds, taking notes of what cars werre being moved around SouthEastern's shops, I noticed something a little out of place.

Now, one thing you should know. There's two kinds of "No Trespassing" signs. One says " No Trespassing" and is usually ignored by die-hard railfans to go find that ancient relic on private property, or the contest winnign photo. Jefferson Proving Grounds, on the other hand, has a different sign. It reads "No Tresspassing. Unexploded Ordidence." When the SW8 shoves two flatcars past there with men and tools,
[IMG] and is following a posse of Bomb Techs and guys who ae wider in the shoulders than I am tall with machine guns, you go "Darn, there's an awesome shot going to happen back there and there's no way in hell I'M gonna get to see it...

I circled through the next day, and noticed that 2013 was back, outside the enginehouse, and those flatcars had gone back to their spots in one of the little pocket railyards. I took a peak to see what was hiding in CMPA's shops.

Upon leaving, I ran into one of the JPG guards at the front entrance. He told me he was one of the ones who went in with the train.

It's an old WWII toy we were playing with. Not sure how it got forgotten, but the guys were clearing and pulled a tree over for access. When it didn't fall through a grove, they worked towrds the area to see what was hiding.

According to him, they'd been clearing around it for a while, but just now focused on the trackwork. USAX 114 is going to be donated to a Legion somewhere.

I love surprises, The Boss popped us with "Hey guys! Tomrrow we;re working 10hrs all week!" This is going to cut into my train time, isn't it...

Figures, I could hear it on my scanner, the CMPA was ripe with activity, probably moving Autoracks out for the 2011 car season, and starting to re-park the winter season grain hoppers.

I was ecstatic though, to catch a train horn on my way to get groceries on my day off though. Even more to see what was hooked to it!

Of course I forgot about the milk and eggs to go chase a train, duh! I decded to set up in an old rural town next, ans managed to catch both cars. [IMG][IMG] TBX has graciously provided a business car for hospitality for an excorting American Legion honor guard, to be picked up in Indianapolis on it's way out.. The car was named for a much beloved TBX exec and informer who passed on. Go tta wonder though, I sure don't recall seeing it come in, unless they brought her in on the back of a covered hopper drag...

My next hop was up to a CMPA bridge, one of the few realtively easy to get to. COnviently, this also allows me to shoot the old bridge, as it's coming out next year for a heavier duty one (real fact, the CMPA really is doing this) [IMG] ...

Did I say easily accesible? The CMPA winds across two creeeks several times, most of them in the middle of nowhere. So, I opted to hop to North Vernon and pre-empt them there. In town, The CMPA must pull past the old station [IMG], gotta be a nerve-wracking veiw, come across the Chessie Diamond, and then back into the tail track, before pulling into the transfer yard [IMG] They shut down 2013 there, telling me it wold be a while before they were plannign to run back, either to assist in CSX's pick-up, or to bring cars back to Jefferson. I did talk to ther engineer though, he said it's heading Norhwest.

It's something to ponder, but it seems odd that the American Legion would send an escort group. The car is fully self-supporting and can ride on the back of a train like a plush caboose. It's just, why? What could go wrong to need an escort? [IMG]

Hey guys, budd of mine up in the capital sent me this picture he took on I-70. Said the NWR was moving something peculiar up the Indianapolis Belt Railway heading West.

Sounds like she made it into Missouri just in the nick of time, too. considering the weather.

I'm glad to here there's nore TF fans out there. A friebnd of mine I met on a Transformers Board, then rean into the same screenname on that Magazine forum. I asked if he were one in the same, and said yes. Turns out he got into Transformers while looking for inexpensive autos in HO. He discovered the Armada-series Minicons, later on some of the Micromasters from the 80s releases.

River_Eagle, those photos are outstanding. Love the lighting on them, especially the headlight.

It;s pretty easy to keep up with because of the friction bearing 15 mph speed restriction.
