Hi guys, i'm looking around online trying to find out what the standards are for tangent track spacing on ho and N. Also, what the spacing is on curves. I know the spacing on curves is different, i am starting work on a layout for the CNC and i want to make sure the trackplan follows the general standards. Thanks in advance, Brett
Tangent spacing from what I understand is 2" HO, 1-1/4" N. As for curves, I don't know the exact spacing, but make sure it's enough to clear 80-foot cars past each other. But track standards are whatever you want them to be or need them to be, so don't be afraid to make a little extra space if you want. sidings can be of varied spacing, in n scale, they can vary from 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" to 2" depending on a specific prototype location's spacing.
Here's a link to the NMRA standards. Obviously a good starting point. http://www.nmra.org/standards/sandrp/s-8.html
