I am a little late this week but here goes anyway. This is the old Southern Pacific depot in Sugar Land, Texas. This is what I was trying to model when I built it.
Russell, I think you've hit the nail on the head. Your station looks just like the prototype. Great work. Dave
Hey, guys, I'm kinda sick this weekend. I think I have a bad case of narrow gauge fever. I don't have any new layout pix, but I did draw these up. It'll be my birthday soon, and with a bit of extra cash I may give a TTn3 locomotive (an N scale mechanism with larger cab, stack, etc.) one last shot. Should I decide to slunk back to N scale orthodoxy, I can rebuild it with a smaller boiler and cab.
Wofgang, what a great vision you have provided. I expect to see a discarded newspaper blowing up against the chain-link fence. :teeth: Here is my weekly entry: Duplex at Speed!
pictures of the club in Colorado I drove down to the Barclay engine facility and caught this picture from the north end, The Texas Chief has just arrived behind a trio of F units While a set of Alco PA's prep to go with a mail/express train. at the facility itself, UP 3300 and 3266 prep to take their train over the pass. I couldn't get close on the other side because of a fence, but I did see an SW8 idling further up.
My sister searched high and low for a Cinderella's Castle cake topper for their wedding in March. Cheapest they could find, was $200 made of white chocolate that requires dry ice shipping and even more dollars. So I jumped in and said I'd do it for her. This is my first ever scratch build, and I'm making a ton of mistakes, and learning along the way, but here it is so far:
Trainshow next weekend so I am working on the layout. In the meantime... Gothic lettered SD7 This abandoned highway bridge in downtown San Antonio was slated for destruction. It has been converted to a pedestrian walkway and goes right across the old Southern Pacific Sunset mainline. Should be a good place for photos. H0 scale NYC passenger car. Photo taken in Florida. Engine: Some nice photos by the WNFF crowd this week.
River, those are some awesome shots. I really love the engine shop photo! The usual fine work from the TB members. This thread never dissappoints.
