I'm looking to add some grain cars to the RF&L's pool of available rolling stock. I'm currious to know if anyone makes a model of the Pullman - Standard or American Car & Foundry 3-bay hopper cars the Milwaukee Road used that had the "America's Resourceful Railroad" plaquards on them? (I think they were made about 12-15 years ago by Walthers, but I could be wrong about that.) I think they'd be a nice addition to the layout and any info. anyone might have on that would be appreciated.
Out of Production I believe they were made by Intermountain and possibly Athearn RTR or Genesis Line. Both are out of production and occasionally show up on eBay or at swap meets. Rick
something like this? http://www.exactrail.com/ps-2cd-4427-covered-hopper-milwaukee-milw-2-model-ho-trains
here is another one that is a bit more harder to put together http://www.railyardmodels.com/catalog/4785cuftps2cd.html
I have one of these and I"ve seen photot's of them on Rio Grande trains in the 80's with the Resourceful sign. http://www.intermountain-railway.com/ho/html/45350.htm
Tangent Scale Models does an excellent PS-2CD 4740, which they've done in Milwaukee (7 road numbers): MILW #100204
