BLMA Spines and Flats. Any News?

Any updated news on release of the 3 and 5 unit spine cars and the flats?

I checked their web site and blog and there was no updated news.

 

The news I received from my supplier was that the shipment missed the boat before the Chinese New Year began in January. That means they won't ship until sometime this month and hit stores, hopefully, by end of March. I have a bunch on reserve so I'm eagerly awaiting their arrival.

Craig, can you verify that information?

Soon I hope, I can't wait to have them. I have all numbers of all car types reserved.

 

Missed the boat. Nothing gets done during Chinese New Year. China should be back running starting Monday Feb 14.

End of March to dealers seems reasonable.

I've had 36 of the F89's on order since last summer. Looking forward to seeing them!

The website is completely devoid of any mention of the TOPGONS. I thought these were to be made available on a steady basis and not as a "limited run".

 

Aren't those "TOPGONES"? I was lucky enough to get several for my NS coal train, but what a hunt in finding those.

 

The TOP GONS were like everything made in a limited run. They made a few runs of them.

 

That is not my recollection.

 

Thanks for the notes. Here are the updates:

Spine Cars: Coming probably sometime in the second quarter. We are taking delivery of our PS-4000's (second run) and new 52' Gondola in just a few weeks - these were announced AFTER the Spine Cars. Our delay is due to (A) the extreme amount of detail on these models and (B) the huge run volume. For now, we must take extra time to ensure every car is made correctly, and with the detail level advertised. We appreciate your support and look forward to delivering a top quality product unlike anything before.

TopGon's: As was mentioned, the TopGon's, like ALL freight cars are limited runs based on pre-orders. That said, we've announced and delivered two runs - 60 different road numbers, all with unique, road number specific load weight, light weight, and re-body dates. Look for a third run announcement sometime in mid 2011...

Again, we appreciate everyone's support! We have a lot of great things in the works...stay tuned!

Well I'm glad to hear the TOPGONS will be rerun. I could not partake of the first runs as I was downsized from my employment and the economics just did not allow any purchases. Thankfully my situation has improved and I can once more indulge in my favorite obsession.

 

There's some nice pics of them running on Mark Lestico's beautiful Cascade Sub layout in the mar-apr N Scale Railroading. :thumbs_up:

Just waiting on N Scale test samples and they'll go straight to production. FYI: There is a teaser photo of the HO Scale F89-J on the home page of our website right now...
