Can someone help with a suggestion on capacitor size one would use to help stop the flickering on Kato #11-204 DC lighting. Is there a capacitor small enough to fit in the car with the light kit?
I also Have 3mm led's and would like to build my own. Question is what size resistors to us with DC as the voltage will never reach 12-15V? Looks like LED's are prefered with DCC, and most wiring diagrams are for 15v.

    Take a look here:

    Lighting_accessories

Scroll down to "Miniature 16-volt & 25-volt Capacitors".

I use 2-4 of them for the marker lights of my cabooses.

As for the resistors: Start with a 380Ohm resistor and work from there.
(i.e. if the LED is to bright, increase it. Don't go beyond 380Ohms.

    hope, this helps
