Well after at least 5 years of reading here about Fiffer Hobby I made a purchase from Mike. I really was not looking to purchase another diesel engine, but just decided to take a look at what engines Fiffer had in stock, Just for something to do.. When I looked on the Kato pages I saw a UP, SD40. I already have one of them and it is a really nice runner. I was hooked. Had to buy it, and a Digitrax DN163K1B to go with it. I will now have four SD engines, three GP and two MP15's. What am I to do? Fortunately I will not need any more engines for a while so I will have to just budget for all of the items for the layout and customizing the engines and rolling stock I have. Darn it, now I have to look at the rest of the Fiffer web site.:tb-tongue:
My bridge line already leases it's engines from the UP. At least that is what the little N scale management people have told me.:biggrin9xs::act-up: And I believe every thing they say.
I'll add my vote to that. Mike is very patient and helpful with answers and suggestions, and Robin is top notch on keeping track of things.
Couldn't be better Ditto to that !!! I'm really cramped for time, so I can't begin to tell all of the good things about the Fifer's - but they are the greatest. A fundamental asset of the hobby!!:thumbs_up:

I started looking around for some F units that I missed because of a family crisis. To my relief, I also decided to look a Fifer Hobby and as luck would have it, they had them still. Zoom went the credit card and Zoom came the locomotives with a nice touch, a note assuring the quality after passing a test run. I stand the risk of divorce if one more locomotive shows up at the house, or I would beat a trail back to Fifer. Maybe a few shiny gemstone trinkets may allow me to go back and pick up some of the U30's and C30-7's about to come out from Kato. Here is hoping Bling translates into more business!

Mike, The point you miss is that we are all great folks because of the way you and Robin treat us. I am not sure if this is a Chinken and Egg thing, but we can agree it is a wonderful thing. You and Robin are the best!

I just received my first order from Fifer , looks like I mght have another place to order from. I'm a hard customer to please, I hate waiting.
I too have purchased from Fifer and they are my favorite on line supplier, I can not say enough about them. I work in the power industry and travel with my job, on my days off when out of town I do the bay to kill time, the items I buy get sent home so when I get back home it is like Christmas opening all of what I bought. I do purchase from other vendors, but I buy most of what I call special and or critical items from Fifer and I like to follow what Mike is doing on his layout, his work is of great inspiration to me. I have limited time to spend at home on my layout and I like to see what others are doing on theirs. Mike and his wife are very special to me and helped me with an issue I had with a loco that I purchased from another vendor and did not charge for what they did. I have a fairly large fleet of locos that need decoders and will be contacting Fifer for decoders because they are willing to help with what I need, this will be a fairly large cost to me and I know I could go on line for a better price, however there wold not be the service that I will get from the Fifer's. Just my two cents worth!
I too have used Fifer on a few occasions and have had very positive results each time. I will continue to use as needs arise.
