So I'm a little confused. I bought a package of 100 33" MTL Low Profile wheels to replace some pizza cutters. Now I want to get some 36" MTL wheels, but I see there is no "Low Profile" MTL option in 36" wheels. There is however a "Standard" size MTL 36" Wheel.

Will the Standard size MTL wheel (as seen here) work with Atlas code 55 track. I'm asking because I see there is also a "High Profile" wheel available. Which I am assuming to be the Pizza Cutters that used to come on the MTL cars.

    Thanks for the help.

The "Standard Wheel" is a new wheel to replace the low profiles that works better. It has a slightly larger flange and better profile. They are keeping the older wheel styles for those that like them but all new production comes with the "Standard Wheel". The 36" wheels only come in Standard profile because they were tooled after the new profile was released. I don't think you will see 36" in anything but the new style wheel. A 36" pizza cutter wouldn't fit anything.

To add to what was already said, the standard wheels seem to have been designed with the Atlas Code 55 TURNOUTS in mind. MT low profile wheels have very thin flange widths which can cause a truck equipped with them to pick the points. Although the standard wheels from MT are better at preventing this, they do not provide 100% free rolling through the turnouts still.
