Wow, alot of people seem to do some pretty interesting stuff. Ill limit myself to the things I do reguraly:

Snowboarding every single minute I can
Working on my neighbors 69 Impala and soon on my 68 Malibu
Street racing and hanging out with my friends with their cars
Finally starting my own company after some delays
My train club, The Model Railroad Club
Wasting my time on message and chat boards [IMG]
Scuba diving every summer vacation

Theres another stuff I do less commonly or profeciently like sailing, boogie boarding, wind surfing, and some other crap...

Wait a minute!! You mean, besides my full time job and my model railroad, there's supposed to be other hours in the day?

Besides being a pastor for a medium sized church, I love watching NASCAR (Rusty Wallace & Tony Stewert), reading, and playing Computer games (NHL 97 & Civil War Generals 2). I am the webmaster for my model railroad webpage, as well as the one for the church web page. My wife and 2 daughters (18 & 16 - God help me!!!) take up the rest of my waking hours.

Scott does the UP really pass by your backyard? Maybe you could post some pictures here some time :D

Kind of, the UP line is across the lake that I live on, about 100 yards away. I can go over there whenever I want so then I can get as close as I want. I would post pics but I dont have a digital camera or scanner and I dont intend to buy either because that would divert funds away from the hobby

Some other hobbies that I forgot to mention:

Wakeboarding
Waterskiing

It won't ditert the funding away from the hobby, it enhances the hobby!!!(Badger Creek)

Pictures give great frames of reference...and someday there will not be the same stuff rolling on those rails and you will wish you had a picture of THAT locomotive that you saw roll by for the last time.

Other Hobbies? Geez, ever since I added Band back into my life, I haven't had much time to think much else, and my trains re all here, so that would be about it. I do like fast cars (specifically boats...early 70's Impalas, Buick Skylarks(I think), and those big fast powerful seventies machines) and model aviation is really nice...and then there's Legos...I haven't gotten into the girl issue yet, (yeah, I 'm just a little slow for my age but that is quite OK with me), and then there is College.

Real Estate will soon be an issue after I graduate(2005...2006?) and then , pending good employment, I will have my board!!!

Hey guys! Take photos of your present rolling stock and layout, or even the board you have some track on, and date the photo!

I had Kodak photos from 1933 of some of my toys, bikes, trains, model airplanes etc. all of which are antiques now. Most of them got burned in a fire, but a few were in other places and are beyond value to me now. Memories will become important to you in the years to come, and KEP all the negatives! Save digital photos onto floppies and store them safely. Hard drives do crash when you least expect it!!

Always take a shot before you re-work and engine or car, and another after it is finished. Tell all about it on the back and keep them together.

Of all the custom engines my dad and I built, not one photo made it through the fire. So keep them in a safer place than just a box.

You might want to really consider what Watash says about photos. Proves the expertise to the nonbelievers.

Scott,
Even though you don't have a digital camera, you can still shoot slides with a 35MM camera, and have them put on a disk (some photog places offer this service). Those SD90s won't always be around ( I used to think that about SD40-2s and SD45s, and now the 40-2s are decreasing in importance, and the SD45s are a memory.).
I've been shooting diesels since the mid-1970s, and have a lot of old CNW, UP, RI, Frisco and Katy power- they aren't coming back. One shot I feel lucky to get was an old Northern Pacific stock car in Wymore, NE in 1978.
