Hi guys, I"m needing some dimensions for a Walther's HO Water Street freight house structure. I have this kit but it's packed away in storage, I'm doing a feasability study on a track plan where the freight end of the structure would sit under a highway overpass. I need length, widith and height dimensions, (rough is OK) of both the freight end and office end. Hopefully some one has a built up that they could pull some quick measurements for me. My thanks in advance. 2slim,(Todd)
Tried the Walthers catalog? They usually give the dimensions of their buildings. Sorry - see that the H0 scale one is not being sold any more. The N scale version is 11 x 3.6 inches. If the H0 scale one is the same shape, only taken up from N to H0 scale instead, it ought to have an about 20" x 6 1/4" footprint. Smile, Stein
Stein, Yes I did try that, and you actually can find a listing for the kit, (even though it's out of stock) however the dimensions that they usually have showing the LW&H are absent from the listing. The odd thing about the listing for the freight house is that it acually shows a picture of the "Lakeside Shipping" building which is basically the Water Street structure reconfigured. I also have the Lakeside building, (naturally it's in the same place as the Water Street building). The foot print you gave sounds correct, I was hoping to get the LW&H of both parts to see, first if it would fit, second if I could kitbash a larger freight area. Thanks 2slim
If you have a copy of Atlas RTS, try that. They have a library that has many of the footprints of Walthers structures and you can even print them out 1:1 scale. I work in N but I did this to figure out placement of a Walthers two stall engine house that I don't yet have.
Why do 'feasibility study'? Just assume there'll be enough space, and if it turns out there's not, kitbash!
