    Steam Engine For Sale.

YES..... The insurance costs are causing many excursions to be canceled.

We were at The St. Louis Museum of Transportation(Museum of Transportation), I was wandering around taking pictures. Apparently I got into a restricted area, and was asked what I was doing there. I explained that all I was trying to do was get some good pictures of FRISCO #1522. I was then taken around behind the fence and given the freedom to get some very detailed pictures. While I was back there I was offered Frisco #1522 for sale. After realizing that I had NO place to park it, I had to turn down the offer. The guys at the Museum told me that the engine was ready to run and had been stored properly for running, but the !*&# insurance costs had put them out of the mainline excursion business. WHAT A WASTE!!!

By the way, if you are ever in the St. Louis area make sure you stop by this Museum. A delight to visit and when the volunteers find out you are a railfan, you can get some "behind the scenes" opportunities for pictures and such. The UP westbound mainline run right behind the property, and there is a viewing stand for watching said mainline.
