:tb-biggrin:I was wondering if anyone on here went to the Conductor trainee interview for the
Cicero IL location and passed all the tests? If you did, did you hear from them when the start date is, Its been 2weeks since my last email from the medworks saying I meet all the standards. if you hear anything please let me know.

I've tried to contact them but they told me to just email the HR department and I have not heard anything yet.

    thank you all.

no charge for our time. Let me give you one more tip...

Never let the carrier have your time for free! If the TM or any other official wants to talk to you, DO NOT tie up your job or duty until AFTER they finish speaking to you or showing you a film etc. If you are "outlawed"(reached the 12hr "on duty" limit)you DO NOT have to speak to an official unless it is in an emergency situation. If they want to talk with you or give you a class or whatever, they MUST pay you for it. That constitutes "performing service". You CANNOT(Federal Regulation!!!)perform service for the carrier after 12hrs continuous duty has been performed. You can wait for transportation to bring you to your terminal(home or away) but you MUST NOT perform service for the carrier.

    HI

:pcute:Thanks for the advice Charlie.I dont like to work for free either. But can I get fired for refusing to listen to a TM or higher up? Thats like our dispatchers telling use to work over hours for 1 more load LOL. Is it true that you can be fined by the FRA for going over hours? if so does the company pay for it and you pay them back or are you just screwed?

    thanks C

This is a real judgement call. If you disobey a supervisor(yardmaster, trainmaster,RFE,dispatcher)you can get fired for insubordination. If they ask you to violate H.O.S.(hour of service)in an emergency situation, you are required to do it.
Now this leaves open just what is an "emergency". Mostly that is open to the supervisors definition. If it comes down to the "nitty-gritty" and there is an investigation, the company will have to come up with hard evidence that an emergency existed. In the event that the
FRA gets involved, the onus is on YOU to prove that there was no way you could avoid violating. The company is going to be saying it was an emergency, you have to prove that there was no other way you could have avoided violating H.O.S.
Yes you can be fined for FRA violation, AND they are BIG BUCKS. NO, the company will NOT
pay the fine nor will they defend you. BOHICA!
