"Jerry, did you pick the Looney Tunes car for a reason?"

Yah, but not for the obvious reason. Amtrak has been rebuilding Amfleet I cafe cars into coaches, adding two windows per side... the pattern is similar to Amfleet II cars.

Agree 100%, manufactures should tint the windows and trash the lame interiors, or sell them separately. Tinted windows are the protoypical solution....

would be nice if Kato had some sort of insert that one could install on the tail-end car to plug the real real ugly hole that the truck-mounted coupler makes on their cars (Amfleet and Viewliner) ... really destroys the look of the ends

I just want to know why Bachman moved the vents above the vestibule? On the original release, they were lower, stil not in the right spot, but on the subsequent release they decided to move them to another incorrect higher location.

They do look nice but the vent are a very prominent feature, and stick out lick a sore thumb when placed next to the Kato Amfleet II.

I believe that the Con-Cor shells are based on the original Viewliner test shells that were built by Budd (their last) in the late 1980's and finished by Beech Grove. I remember seeing the only Viewliner diner and a Viewliner sleeper on a northbound Amtrak Silver Star at Columbia, SC in August 1991.

Granted the CC paint job does pale in comparison to Kato's. I just hope that Kato will do the Amfleet II's in their as delivered Phase III paint scheme.

    Regards,
    Allen

A friend of mine who's not on this forum wanted to know if anyone has attempted to put the Kato Amfleet trucks onto the Bachmann body. Is this possible? Did Budd's prototype have the same trucks on both models?
