I have read some about the Rokuhan track and I want to give it a try. I know it is not out yet, but where can a guy buy this track? I read on another thread where Z-Scale Monster will have it but it is not listed. Who else has this for sale?
Hello Dave... I can get you all the Rokuhan track pieces you want, including the associated wiring harnesses and power-pack/controller... NOW! I ship by USPS Priority Service. Please contact me directly for details. techrepjapan@hotmail.com
Alex can get it for you now. For the U.S., Intermountain Railway is distributing here. For an index of the track, see: http://www.intermountain-railway.com/distrib/rokuhan/rokuhanz.htm Their shipment arrives first week of June so it should start to show up at their dealers (local hobby shops, etc.) and I would think Z Scale monster. .
I just got a note today saying my full order is being shipped to me this week. I ordered many items from track to their power unit.
I have been studying this track and a video on it's operation particularly the turnouts and switch machine. I am very impressed but I have to wonder, and I think I've asked this question before, how compatible is it with MTL track? I've heard that it is a mico-millimeter higher then MTL and thus the rail ends have to be filed down slightly to mate with MTL track. Is this true? I am very interested in getting some of these pieces particularly the turnouts as they look to be far superior to MTL's turnouts both in looks and operation. Ken
Ken, A good source for track dimensions can be had at Garth's site: http://www.nn3.ca/track/track-p1.htm I've not yet received Rohuhan track, but the data and other posts suggest that about 20 mils in height and perhaps 10 mils in width would have to be removed for the Rokuhan rail to match MTL. Of course, the same sort of adjustments need to be made mating other manufacturers to MTL. I agree the turnouts appear to be a considerable improvement over what has been available until now. Mark
Dave, Norm's (in your "neighborhood") has had the Rokuhan track on their site for a couple of weeks...although they claim first shipments won't be until June. Monster Z has just added Rokuhan in the past day. Mark
