I just got the new edition of Model Railroader and there is a picture of a C&O 2-6-6-2 on the front cover as well as a full article about an N scale layout.
That's a nice article - great layout. Actually wish there had been more photos, but I guess they can't go too overboard on one featured article.
It just so happens i've met Jeff Ashby at some of the train shows in Fort Wayne, IN. where he lives. He's a swell guy who loves to model the C&O. He's quite enthusiastic about realistic operations on that free-lance Logan Subdivision he models. I'd love to see and operate on his layout some day. Gotta love that Kato Mikado K2 or K3 pictured with those flying air pumps up front. Very C&O!!!! Berk
I've operated on Jeff's layout several times. My friends and I have been helping him refine his operations to make it more prototypical and enjoyable. You can only have so many pictures of a layout in a bedroom, and a small bedroom at that!
