    Hello All..
Another new comer to N scale, making a post to introduce himself.
I've collected a bunch of used code 80 track, some turnouts, some used rolling stock, a few pieces of new rolling stock, a lifelike gp 18 & a model power fp 7.
I know, not the best locomotives, but but what I could afford for now, they manage to pull the rolling stock around the temporary layout that I throw togather and I can get into the clickety clack zone and forget about the mundane world for a time.

Welcome to the N scale forum. Make yourself at home and ask us anything you want and I'm sure one of us will help you. :D

Welcome to the best Forum on the net! Model railroading is a great hobby and yes, a major stress reliever! ;)

Welcome! And you're right, sometimes taking a little break from the real world and using your imagination is just what's needed. Don't worry about what locomotives you start with, a lot of us here probably started out with some pretty terrible ones, but just wait til you find a nice Atlas or Kato brand engine on sale somewhere, you'll be amazed how good the electronics have gotten.

    Thanks for the Welcome, folks...

    Yes, questions will be forthcoming....

There seems to be a Zen lesson
in putting rolling stock on the rails,
with old eyes & un-nimble fingers.

    All in All, I'm enjoying....

Welcome to the forum and the trick I use to putting cars and locos on the track is a Rix railer, MT also make something similar.

Yup, I have a Rix railer for putting cars on the track too, usually works a lot quicker than trying to do it by hand. They make HO & N versions.

    Rix railer, cool..
That was one of my forthcoming questions...
    Actually, my question would have been;
has anyone had scratch built one and if so
    were there instructions posted anywhere.
Not being a CEO of anything but a fictional
railroad, scratch built is more in my
    price range...
Looking at the posted picture, I do believe
I can figure out what I'll need to do to
    scratch build one..
    Thanks...

Here's a close up shot of the business end of mine.

And how it works on some Kato Unitrack. You just need enough of a gap on the insides of the rails for the width of the wheels to fit.

    Third Coast Rail,
thanks again for emailing me your pictures
of the Rix railer. Hopefully, I'll get a chance
to get out into the shop over the weekend
and see if I can replicate one in wood.
    Thanks.

Welcome aboard. No need to buy all new stuff. There are a few great sellers here that are selling used locos and cars to build your fleet. I have bought a few from Nlevo, Emagics and others. As a matter of fact, the items that Nlevo sells are just like new without the price tag.

Thank you for the welcome, Sin City.
I have already doubled my rolling
    stock, getting very reasonable
    acquisitions through this site.
I am a believer, in not purchasing
    anything new besides underwear.
Though new to this site, I have been
playing with trains for over 50 years now.
My first being a standard guage, tin plate,
clock work 0-4-0, tender & consist.
My second, another 0-4-0 & consist,
an electric O-27, built by Marx & sold
    thru Sears & Roebucks.
There's been HO & American Flyer
    S Guage over the years.
I even some Large Scale tains
packed away, for a future garden.
Never a true "MODELER" OR "Operator"
always content to watch my trains
    go roundy-round.
Now playing wth N scale trains.
    Always a child at heart.
