custom built for Gunnar Haeberer in Germany. Basis for this loco is a AZL Chassis and Tim Buehrings SD70ACe kit, casted from Dave Freehlings original. The ACe shell received minor modifications apart from super detailing: new hatches and louver behind the cab on the left side and new louvers at the rear end.
Terrific as usual!:we2-jimlad: BTW, that superb model looks like not to have any ditchlights, doesn't it? Dom
Thanks for being merciful John. Although if I remember correctly you did bring this thread to my attention last night.
Dom, no ditchlights, the loco will get full DCC and light "treatment" by Oliver Passmann in Germany, THE no. 1 address for light effects and DCC. So no need do something from my side. Frank, it's not a SD70ACe, it's it's DC sibling SD70M-2
You're right. Oli Passmann beeing a master of fine tuning for Z scale locos he will surely do an excellent job for that. Don't hesitate to insert some videos here when you've recovered your loco from Oli with fully operating ditch lights!:tb-wink::thumbs_up: Dom
...oeps....:confused3:..that sure is a different technology used in the real loco's, but they look so much alike.. Are there easy visible marks to distinguish a SD70M-2 from a SD70ACe?
Hi Frank, the SD70M-2 has 3 hatches on the left side behind the cab, the SD70ACe has only 2 hatches with venting slots. There might be other visual differences, but those are the most obvious to me.
