I've decided to freestyle a military supply yard, so I thought I would start with an appropriately themed switcher. Ordered it from my LHS on Father's Day. ;)

I've read that it runs very well at low speeds and handles a #6 turnout admirably.

I have a Rio Grande one.
Runs very well! Even at slow speeds.
Handles the #4 turnouts I have on my small 2x4 foot layout.
I think you'll be quite happy with the unit.
Now, as soon as someone can tell me HOW to cram sound into mine.........
    :D :D

I have the same Army one in HO and it's great for moving around our club layout. It's not fast and when I jump on the main lines I have to bop in and out before getting run over.

I'm building a modular military base and supply yard in HO and it's been fun to create. My next locomotives are going to be a set of Atlas Army Gensets.

    Good luck building your yard.

I've got the 45 ton version, and have the same experience at the club . It makes about 6 complete loops of the club layout over the course of our 3 hour "day" on Sundays. The layout is about 120'x12'.
