I just got my Athearn Challenger today. Runs fine. Sound is pretty good, not excellent but I'm working on that, but the LED headlight is just flat unacceptable! At best you can see a pinpoint of light as long as you are at exactly the right angle. OK you experts, tell me what I need to do or what I need to buy as a replacement. The backup light (even though yellow) is ok but that forward light is just pathetic.
Be happy the headlights work better then the headlights and tail lights on Athearn's Bombardier bi-level coach cab car - that is not at all because they're painted on.
I did get it a little brighter. DUH! They come with the Headlight dimmed as in Rule 17. F7 brought the intensity up but not enough to shine. It's a far cry from the lighting effects you get with the Intermountain AC-12. Now that's a headlight.
