I'll be there. I believe my group is set up next to yours. I have to work Saturday, but Sunday keep your eyes peeled and you may see a couple of Trainboard cars running around an nTrak layout.

How was the show? What's the % of N-scale content there? :) I was thinking of going today but the hour-and-a-half drive from Hollywood to my friend's house in Azusa on Friday wiped me out.

Hi Elson, There was a little more N scale than usual. The same Haywain shirt guy with 50% off of the 400% mark up was there with his mostly N scale items from 25 years ago. There was a guy from Arizona, Odey (I think), who was also at Anaheim and he had OK prices(cash only). The elderly couple next to him had a large amount of N scale and was having a 20% off retirement sale (prices OK) and some OK items. There were three other dealers that had N, but not much. I did not see anything to separate me from my cash, but will have a bigger roll (huh, me with money?) tomorrow and I will dig deeper through the piles of stuff.
The turnout was quite good. There was a kids police camp of some sort and a kids art festival both across from our building and I think we were able to bring some of those folks in. Most of the layouts were shrunk up, we were 20x40 normally 40x40, but we all are having a good time. They are keeping the temp very comfortable in the building.
I think it might be worth it for you to come by and bring a DCC train to run on the layout.
    Hope to see ya.

That's cool. I guess N scale runs strong in So Cal. Why does that Hawaiian shirt guy even bother? Hahaha. Thanks for the report though. I guess I'll just go to the December show. Right now I don't need anything except maybe for 53' trailers for my new BLMA spine cars. The rest is all just scenery and ballasting work I need to get around to on my layout.

See, that's the problem, I'm not DCC-equipped yet :) Hopefully soon!

Is the Hawaiian shirt guy the one that used to have Life Like GP20s for $20 consistently?

There was a dealer that I saw at every SoCal show and also every show I went to up in portland that did that, he had older stuff that was clearly overstock on road names that he was selling at around those prices.

Even in HO, it was only ever hit or miss with GTE. Though I did best at the Del Mar show back when I lived down there.

I might take a trip down to Bakersfield for the big swap meet there that I think will be in January. As I did well there a few years ago and it's actually easier now than it was when I lived in Carlsbad.

Well, we're having a baby end of December, so maybe not, but It's the only "socal" "show" I ever made out like gangbusters at HO or N.
