Hi guys. I have an SD70ACe from MTH (which I am trying to either trade or have repainted, but may end up selling) and it runs BEAUTIFULLY! If you get one with the sound decoder, you will be amazed. As for the turn radius question, I ran mine on my neighbor's layout before he tore it down and it went through the 15" radius section of his curved turnouts with no issues. I tried it on a 18" curve and it ran on it fine. Looked a little cramped and awkward but it was fine otherwise. Hope this helped!
thank you bud for the info send me a pm i might know someone who can paint it for you lemme know zman.
You guys haven't had problems with the MTH equipment? We tried to MU a trio of those in CSX at our club. We couldn't get them to cooperate with our DCC system (NCE). Almost nothing worked properly. The same happened with an MTH K4 steamer, It would go forward, backwards, some of the sounds would work, but would otherwise not play ball.
i couldn't tell you i can ask my buddy if he's mued his with anyting else he only has the one mth engine the sd70m-2 ill talk to him nexst time i hear form him about it. and mine is on it's way along with some 22 curve's for my bachman track setup so i can run thsi beast of a bad boy lol. will let ya know how my expirince goe's.
Next time try "Old style consisting". CV19 consisting is not supported with MTH. Future release will however support "Advance consisting" along with support of more NMRA CVs.
That's odd. I got mine to consist just fine with my Challenger. And I am using the NCE Power Cab. I was using old style consisting though so that could be why.
ill keep that in mind for whenever i get a second loco i had to sell off my stuff so im reaquirring woo woo woo and said why not get what i truely wanted which was a norfolk southern safety cab loco with sound on it. she's in the mail now just got my email saying it shipped and will be here monday im so stoked to get it man will update with pic's when i get it.
That may be it, but it is not the first time I've heard problems reported about the brand. Hey, if they make it more compatible, that will be great, i can always use an extra GG1.
