hey guy's well i have a digitraz zepher ive had it for over 3 year's now.
i think it's crapping out on me i have one sound equipped loco and i know the mth stuff ahs had problems' but it's not that one loco that is not doing well
went to a bud's house hooked it up cause i told him i was havieng problem's with my dcc setup and we tried over 20 of his 60 dcc sound equipped loco's and same as here at home.
only the horn and bell are accesseble other than forward backward and speed control.

so with this all said im in the market for a new dcc system.
what are my option's preferbly i don't want to go over 230 buck's it's all i have to spend.
    thank's zach.

Have you tried re-setting your Zephyr? Without doing a couple simple things to see if we can get it working the way you want it to work I hesitate to discuss replacement.

    P.43 here
    http://www.digitrax.com/ftp/ZephyrManual.pdf
descibes how to do it. Basically,
    Press PROG
Press SWITCH (switch indicator will now blink)
    Enter 36
    Press the C/- key
    Press EXIT

Often these things can be remedied much more cheaply than replacement.

Actually, you might fare better by resetting the Zephyr to factory defaults. Close Option Switch 39 to do that. Instructions are on page 46 of the manual.

What Martin said is probably the better plan.

If that doesn't work, send it to Digitrax, they have a flat $35.00 fee for out of warranty command station repair.
With shipping, for forty odd total dollars, about the cost of a premium decoder, you'll be all fixed up, and back in business.
Their turn around is pretty quick, generally get it back in 2-3 weeks.

Well, good luck on starting over. Digitrax is what I know. I recently sent in two DT-300 throttles that I found used and not working and they fixed them up perfectly and had them back in about 2 1/2 weeks. If you get yours going you could plug a UT-4 into it and have a tethered throttle no problem, but if you've had it maybe you can sell it to someone with a caveat that it doesn't appear to be working 100% and use the money toward something new.

I've had the Digitrax Super Empire Builder Radio system for Six years now. No problems. I would buy another if I had to. While their Tech help line leaves a lot to be desired, their repair service is pretty good and inexpensive. I would have your Zephyr repaired before you go out and buy a new system.
