A Mock up of my first N Scale T-Track Module Part 1 of 2 (only 2 parts not 3)

Boy oh Boy am I ever excited . N Scale T-Track is Very very cool.

I found a local N scale T-Track Club and attended the first meeting. I asked for and received two N Scale T-Track modules to set up. When I got home tonight I did a mock up for the first module. There is a lot of work to do yet but this is a very quick beginning. I'm impressed with T-Track. You can build a module in a few days and have it ready to run. With my full sized "U" layout I have not even completed test laying the track. This big layout is going to take months to get to the point of just running trains.

But the N Scale T-Track modules (I'm getting to be crazy about it) are a very fast and done deal. I am also now thinking of looking into (I forgot it's name) the 2' by 4' modules. I'll continue with N scale T-track (it is terrific and quickly done) and My "U" shaped WIP layout.

I've taken some pictures of the mock-up. It was done in just two hours with stuff I had on hand. My daughter and granddaughter (It's great they want to get involved) want to complete this one and I can then start the second. My wife has no interest in model trains at all. The white Prison bus in picture 1 and 4 is not true N-Scale but close. I got it, a few other cars, and some construction equipment at Wall-Mart at a very low price. They will look OK on the bigger layout if placed correctly.

Here are the pictures of different views of the mock-up.

    See ya

Ron welcome to the T-Trak cult:pray::worship2:! I love T-Trak. I had moved into New Jersey all of two days and fellow TB BillTX met with me and his friend and with his modules and we were running trains. Awesome. I think I was running trains before I had even unpacked my dishes! Be sure to join our T-Trak group here too. [IMG]

Yes T-TRAK allows you to build modules and your railroad one module at a time. Once you get past the first couple of modules, you can build an entire layout from T-TRAK ....

You're possibly thinking of N-Trak, my club's ditched it for train shows after discovering T-TRAK. Don't completely rule out T-TRAK because of the small modules, when you think outside the box (pardon the pun) you can do a lot with T-TRAK. It can be much, much more than square modules with two tracks across the front.

That looks like it will be a nice looking module by the way. T-TRAK lends itself to doing small detailed scenes.

I'd looked at T-Trak, and passed on it- Until illness several years ago forced me to downsize efforts. Since then I have discovered what a wonderful concept it really is and so many possibilities.

You know, I've looked into T-Trak because it seems like it would be really reliable (Unitrack is nice for modules), however I'm still not completely sold on trying to put together a layout in all Unitrack...it looks ok for mainlines (with some weathering I imagine), but I don't know how difficult it would be to get things like passing siding and industrial sidings to look good...meaning how to hide or bury all that ballast to the track looks "lower". If I knew of a T-Trak club around I'd probably build one because it seems like it would be quick and easy (aside from the fact all my power tools are in storage, lol).

I had those same concerns about making the track look good, etc. But as things evolved, it took very little effort to get the appearance I wanted.

There's nothing in the T-TRAK rules to say you can't use any track you like on your sidings, the Australian T-TRAK guidelines only specifically insist on unitrack for the end-of-module interface and has pages on joining other track to Unitrack.

Was the club Conecuh Valley Model Railroad Club? If not, and you don't mind me asking, what is the name of the club and what city are they based out of?
