One exciting ride for the crew of this two foot gauge steam-powered Chinese ore train. :tb-ooh: And the Conductor sitting out in the open on nothing more than a bar stool. :tb-shocked: There's a lot more to ride in China than just Bullet Trains.....:tb-cool: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=673_1315167217
Sweet antique that looks like it survived a few WWII bombings but shouldn't it be in a museum?.. Is it just me or at :40 into the video is that last car derailed as it heads into that curve? I thought it was going to tip over at least 50 or so times and the engineer looks totally unfazed the whole time.. And I'm with BNbob, That track is just nuts! Ya think they need some seriously trained track maintenance crews there? And I thought them chickens we're either going to get squished or tip the poor engine over on impact near the end! LOL
DJ, I guess that only goes to prove that the laws of physics still work...as long as the majority of the engine's weight stays somewhere between the wheels, the engine should not tip over, operative word "should not". I'm amazed that each rail remains upright with the engine lunging all over hellangone.
Yikes. I assume there are some ties in there, somewhere. If an engineer ran like that here in North America, they'd be looked at as though completely nuts.
This video is doing the rounds right now. I saw it somewhere and shared on my Facebook page. That also got some more shares! Great to watch - I am just amazed they stay on the track! I think the locos are 0-8-0's so they must have very flexible frames or 'soft' springing! How cool are those chickens crossing the track and taking no notice of the approching train?
