During the past few weeks I have begun construction of my hollow core door layout based on Dave Vollmer's pennsy/conrail layout. Mine is based in fictional Charming, CA located between Stockton, CA and Lodi, CA on UP's ex-SP San Joaquin Valley Route. Got the idea of the town from the TV series "Sons of Anarchy" on FX. I'm using Atlas Code 55 flextrack and no. 5 turnouts from my previous layout for other than main track switches and no. 7s for the main line. For all my switches im going to use Caboose Ind. groundthrows. My current project is the Monroe Art Deco bridge. I misplaced the directions that suggest which adhesives to use, what do you guys recommend?

Great start! I'd recommend a good medium to thick CA (superglue) for that. Are you going to build it on a flat surface and drop it in, or build it in place?

An interesting choice to locate the town. Are you from the Stockton-Lodi area?

You can try building the foam base back up with silicon, can even use that to attach it to the foam board.

Today I got a little more done with the road, test fitting the underpass and painting the earth tone.

Get some "Great Stuff" spray polyurethane foam. It'll fill it in quite easily, it's easy to cut, lightweight, and inexpensive. BUT (there's always a but) don't overdo it. This foam expands more than you think. A little goes a LONG way.
