My computer would not allow to download the story. So what is the story of the SW00? Your work is top shelf for sure!

I really like the addition of the story, Lajos. I'm a big fan of small locomotives and it's neat to see how you've adapted that for the tiny SW-00. One of my favorite locomotives is the GE 59-tonner, which is quite similar in design, and prompted me to build a locomotive based roughly on that design:

Anyway, great work as always! Keep it up! :)

"The SW-00 was born during WWII and during the years that immediately followed. Because of the war shortages, American automobile production completely shut down except for 1940 Plymouth P11 sedans. They were allowed to produce a few and those were kept for distribution during thewar efforts. If you view WWII news clips of high
government officials and high military officers during the War, you will see many of those ugly old Plymouth cars. Now you know why.
American locomotives faced the same problem. Steam locomotives that should have been trashed during the 30s were kept operating because of the Depression. Then, because of WWII, they were used until they were ready to fall apart. First generation diesel switchers met the same fate. Instead of going into the junk pile, many wrecked diesel locomotives were welded back together into weird configurations. No one cared if they were pretty or not. The only consideration was that they were able to move trains.
After the war, these little switchers worked their way into small branch lines. If you search long enough, you can find pictures of these critters. But, hardly anyone really took pictures of them. Film was expensive and there were brand new Diesels to be photographed. The general American public was not able to buy new cars from Detroit until 1950. The same thing must have happened to the smaller RR lines and their purchases of new diesel switchers. It took that many years for the American manufacturers to rebuild their manufacturing facilities so that they could produce new products.
The SW-00 diesel switcher is a model designed to represent a long forgotten era in American railroading.

The story is a good one, and the loco from Lajos is great! I just received mine and it runs like a jewel, very slowly, but a strong puller for its size. The slow speed capability is very realistic for a tiny switcher. Great work, Lajos!

Thanks guyZ. I have a few more at L.G.Thek Brasswork. Also, chassis and shell kits, they're looking for happy new homes. :0),
By the way, another web site update coming soon, parts of kits and a few components of chassis will be available individually.
