    Hey everyone

One of the fellows down at the club has a handful of PFE 85' flats mixed in with his standard TTX flats, We've been looking to see if we could find proto info on them to determine if they're usable in our upcoming operating session. We cannot seem to find any proto photos of them or any text on them either. The only thing that comes up on google is pictures of the athearn model and of Lionels version.

were these cars fictional or did they actually exist in some small number?

    Thanks in Advance

    Hello,

I am modeling the Southern Pacific, and I am uncertain about the color that these cars were painted in.

As you can see, Micro-Trains is releasing a batch of Class F-70-30 flatcars. These models have an orange body and trucks, black undersides, and "black boxes" on the reporting marks. Is there any credibility on how accurate this paint scheme might be? :)

As we know, often models that are released to not always match the prototypes. The PFE flat cars may have been painted orange, but finding a photo of the real thing would be the best proof. Unfortunately Railgoads site doesn't have one. If these were used in the 60's, brown or oxide red was the most common color for flat cars.
