Does anyone know of a online hobby shop that has a good supply of Preiser Z figures, that is fair and reasonable with prices, and most of all, sends mail to a US Post Office???? Anyone have suggestions???? I am looking for the Preiser 88510 Railway Personnel and the 88513 Track Maintenance Workers. For the curious, after 5+ years, I finally have a Z-Panzer BP-42 Armored WWII German train and I believe the two sets of figures above will be best for modifying into German Army personnel. Hobo Tim
Oh, man, you're about to hear from the moderators! Better go here and read this: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?106711-TrainBoard-Policy-on-Posts-About-Retailers
You've probably already tried the Trainboard advertisers and the Trainstore here, so... So without naming a retailer, I'd suggest just doing a "Preiser for sale" search and when you find a place where the prices seem reasonable, use the inevitable "contact us" button to ask about shipping policy.
Tim, I'm surprised that you are having problems finding these figures. A quick check of retailers who stock Preiser all seem to have what you're looking for. As for USPS shipping, which is a requirement I also have, I can suggest Walthers and as sources that I have used succestfully for USPS shipping. Mark
Shamoo737, So what was the violation of Trainboard retailer policy this time ?!? The retailer you edited out was one I found through Trainboard and the one you left was the one that I was unsure about as I've never seen them advertise here, despite their size. Maybe you should post a list at the top of the page the retailers we can talk about today! Mark
Mark, the retailer you wrote before is not a adverstiser in TB. Only advertisers are entitle to be mention in post. We suggest using private messaging when suggesting other retailers. I though Walters is a distributor, and I left it alone. Understand we are not doing the information. In z its usually very friendly, but not so in other scale. Sometimes mentioning a retailer can erupt into flame wars.
John, I understand the rules, and the reasons. Just confused. I'm certain I learned about the retailer through a TB banner ad, I can't think of any other way. As I mentioned, I was unsure about "W" and would not have been surprised to see it go. My earlier suggestion still applies: that an easily accessable list of advertisers would help members better comply with the rules and reduce your editing load. Mark
You can only help someone with their hobby if they pay to be allowed to be a source of help for someones hobby?
Sooooo is there such a thing as a Z scale engineer figure? You know to lean out the window of a steamer.
Tim, I probably have the blank white ones. Ones in set are painted and more expensive. Get the big undecorated set, it is much better to work with. This way you got the shirtless guys for summer, and the cops and railroad dudes with the saucer hats for officers. It even has a dude with the alpine type of cap used by the wehrmacht.WAY CHEAPER AND BETTER than the little set of 6, plus you get horses Also try to get your hands on the 1/200 dudes, some guys in there are good to modify. If you can find someone who can laser or perhaps photoetch, K-98s, MP38s, MG 34s, E-tools, and pistol holsters, and bayonets in scabbards, then the figures could be modified. I can use all that stuff I know you are the king of molding stuff, so those alpine and peaked hats, Stalhelms, gassmaskcans, breadbags, ammopouches, could be molded.
Well 15 mm = 0.590551 ", so 220 * 0.590551 " = 129.92122". Now divide by 12 to get feet (10.82676'). Basically around 1.8 time what you want for Z, if you expected it to be a 6' figure. -James
