Any one going to Trainfest in Milwaukee next weekend? It is supposed to be pretty good. I am going because my younger sister lives only 5 miles from the show.
It is a great show. Due to business, I am going to miss it for the first time since 1993. I am a little disappointed, as it is a really nice, good-sized show. You'll have a good time.
Alan: What's the weather like in Milwaukee in the first week of November? Stay cool and run steam......
Bob, Im not sure who you mean by Alan, but Carl can answer for you as I know WI pretty well - It can be anything. Forecast for tomorrow, for instance, high 60's to love 70's and sunny. Beautiful! However, for the Steelers at the Packers on Sunday, which I am of course attending, the weather forecast is a high in the low 50's and showers. In years past, I can remember wearing shorts and a T-shirt to Trainfest, as well as two years ago worrying about losing all my nice purchases on the drive home because it was snowing pretty good. Thats Wisconsin for you.
Wiking, the original poster of this thread, first name is Alan. Thanks for the weather info. Stay cool and run steam.....
That makes sense then! I didnt see a name in his profile, hence the confusion! And you can now know me as Carl; nice to meet you Bob!
Thanks Carl. Alan's first name is next to his RailImage account in his profile. Stay cool and run steam.....
They claim to be one of the largest operating train shows in the US. The industry has a trade show the preceeding day, so there are many of the model railroad suppliers there for the public show on Sat. and Sun. Kalmbach and Walthers are local and well represented. It is the fund raiser for the WISE division of NMRA (Wisconsin South East) and provides the funds to allow their monthly meetings to be free and open to the public. I'll be heading up on Saturday. I try to go every other year, otherwise it's the same stuff over and over again. Some good deals can be had if you look for them too. I picked up a Kato Bethgon set for $50 last year.
