This is from a series of photos I took on one of my NTRAK modules that I set up out doors. I have to go a long way to find a big open field to do this in anymore. Urban sprawl has taken over this one.
Here's a trailer that I added a new BLMA Carrier reefer unit. I also added a 100 gallon diesel fuel tank, s/s landing gear & alum. rims on the trailer.
Great shots! Straw thats a heck of a scene! Wolfgang is that the Blackstone model?if so how does it run? and Secret weapon put a Mack on that trailer Make it look even better! The guy going the other way looks like hes got the 5th wheel too close or he missed the pin!
Here are some more of my recent rolling stock completions. Intermountain shell; Microscale decals Atlas shell; Microscale decals. I had a photo to follow for this one. Roundhouse shell; Microscale decals.
Back when he drove trucks for a living, Mike had developed a sort of "kinematic" 5th wheel that slides back and forth on the truck chassis so that when it goes around a corner, it moves back to allow clearance between the cab and the trailer. This allows for a more aerodynamic profile of the truck at higher speed.
Back a few years ago, I drove for a company that had 57' trailers. The kingpin was farther back from the nose of the trailer than normal, keeping the length at the legal limit. Hated pulling that thing because the nose of the trailer swung way out on turns.
Abandoned Hayes Street roadway bridge in downtown San Antonio, Texas as it was around 1970. The roadway has just recently been converted into a scenic pedestrian walkway. It should be a great place for rail fanning, at least in good weather. In the 1920s, several of these bridges crossed the downtown Espee yard. Years later, the "East" Yard was built and it exists today but is scheduled to be abandoned by the Union Pacific in favor of other yards further out of town on less expensive real estate. In this picture, the Sunset Route tracks are at the far end of the bridge just this side of the ICG boxcar. Photo from the other end of the bridge with removed roadway.
Finally finished my boxcab for the TB "Build-A-Boxcab Challenge" (only three weeks late). Bringing vital supplies to Mt. Coffin: More picts over on my Mt. Coffin & Columbia River thread. Very groovy picts, peoples! Keep the cameras & trains rolling!
I have not completed anything new this week, so here are some pictures I took at the Club I belong to in Strongsville, OH. I don't know if I have posted these here before or not. PRR N1s stopping at the crossing with the 20th Century Limited in the background. RS-32 and F3's highballing a general freight through town. NKP GP30's moving out after stopping at the tower for orders. Thanks for looking! Rick J
Espee's Coast Daylight has somehow ended up at Bullard's Bar in the Sierra Nevada on my Yuba River Sub. Maybe it's an excursion, or something. The cars are MTH, the GS-4 is a re-worked Balboa brass import and the MT-4 helper is an Athearn Genesis. Remind me to do something about that pink mountain, sometime. Tom
