So I was looking at the Denver exhibition floor plan and I noticed a section for Sandy's Construction Company? Who / what is Sandy's Construction Company? Is it a new Z scale manufacturer that I missed? John
I heard from the guys over at Zcentralstation.com that Sandy's Construction Company is a new laser kit company with no website or email address. Sandy was at the first NZSC in 2010 as an attendee but will be in Denver as seller. It is a large booth so I am looking forward to see what new items are presented. Looking forward to the photos and report from Denver! John
Have fun this weekend in Denver! Don't forget to take some pictures, so that we from outside USA can see some of the goodieZ as well.
On Z Central Station there are over 370 fotos of the Convention as it progresses. Stony has taken 241 at the Colorado Train Museum and 129 at the set up at the convention. These can be accessed by going to Z Central Station--place mouse on "Media"- a drop down will appear- Hit "Gallery"--scroll down below Most Viewed-etc and Hit either RAIL MUSEUM or NZCS DENVER 2012 under the heading of 6 newest galleries. The show Really starts today so we expect additional fotos this evening. Stony- as our national correspondant- also has a running forum with additional comments and insight. We hope to hear about all the new releases and up coming Z Stuff.
I just went through all the pictures Fred, thanks for sharing, we look forward to seeing more! -Robert
The show was just great, the loot that was available for all the drawings were just overwhelming, especially during the banquet, very well organized, it was really cool to have finally met everyone from all over. karin & Loren I did not had the chance to say goodbye accordingly, when I came back to the table, you guys were gone :bear-arghh:. I know that some of you had viewed or attended bigger shows with longer layouts, but for me, being the first show ever, I was really impress of all the logistics this kind of gathering takes.:bear-err: Thanks for the Zocal (group) for showing the potentials of layouts units. And kudos to all the others also, this thing works because of everyones involment. Thanks to the Z central station team for the great time. Ben
Joe, My head is still spinning from everything at the convention and I was late to a couple of the company presentations, but I thought I heard the MTL will be coming out with more sectional track types, an SW1500 switcher and a powered F7B. AZL: GP-38 made it to the show and runs quite nicely (I was there annoying Rob while he was testing each one), they will doing another run of GP7s with new roads. They also showed a custom DCC decoder for current and future designs. The Intermountain hopper came in, looks great and is already sold out at the factory. NZT announced a new coupler design for 2014. I'm sure someone else will fill in anything I've missed. Mark
The new NZT coupler certainly looks interesting: http://www.model160.com/n-scale-news-blog/nzt-announces-new-n-scale-coupler/ That seems like big news!

From what AZL said, the chassis and shell are good but they (the manufacturer) are having problems with Pilot and Trailing trucks. Enough to make them wait. And as they quoted the manufacturer: "they'll be ready when they are ready" Remember, Hans and Rob (Allbriton) are only 'hobbyists' contracting a manufacturer (that does other's) to make these. One is always at the mercy of a manufacturer making many other toy items, not just trains. Everyone else is having issues too.
