Well, I have been away from model railroading for a while, but in the mean time, I did something interesting. Last month I took a vacation in Darjeeling, the small hilly town north of Bengal and home to famous DHR. I took the opportunity to finish the prototype study for my next project (well once I finish my Wrightsville Port, of course) - have a look: http://wrightsvilleport.blogspot.com...-features.html

If any of you decide to use this article to make a model, I will be really happy to know about it.

    Cheers, Kaustav

I must be doing something wrong. I don't see your DHR study. Help?

    Very interesting homepage.
On this link you will find a marvelous clip with one of the steam trains struggeling to go uphill. Its made by a friend in the end of the 80´ies.

Absolutely awe inspiring and delightful. Will return to this blog frequently. A marvelous piece of living/working railroad history and brilliantly put together. Congratulations.

They certainly don't muck about leaving the station do they. Fascinating little loco's, more like the sort that used to haul the sugar cane trains here in Queensland but with that quaint little saddle tank, no wonder they had frequent water stops along the right o' way. Unusual method of coupling, seemed even more basic than the old single buffer and drop hook employed by NZR during all of it's steam years.

Hope you achieve your dream of modelling it, even if only the loop section, would make a great module.
