hi everyone i am an 18 year old aussie that has just moved back to HO scale from N scale and im looking at building a small 4x6 or shelf layout that isnt too complex. so far i have a hornby mixed freight set with the select dcc control and a number of other european stock and australian stock. recently i purchased an austrains T class with DCC for $300 and i have finished a number of 4 wheel kits which turned out fairly well considering they were my first kits. i might post some photos soon of the kits i have completed. i also have posted a few layout threads in the layout design discussion forums which some people probably find annoying but thats because i can never decide on a track plan which annoys me alot. i hope to post more frequently on the site and make some good friends while im at it
G'day Hawk! Welcome back to HO gauge, and this forum. Take photos and show us what you are building ... and ... Happy new year!
Hello and welcome back to HO! Happy New Year! Neat locomotive picture you have there, interesting details, I must research some of this T class
heres some pics of kits i have built, some arnt decalled or are decalled slightly incorrectly as im still learning how to get it right. and then when i can i will weather them.
some more T class pics, underframe detail on a GY open wagon and a typical australian consist from the 70's or 80's??
looking good so far. I don't know much about Australian railway operations but I do like what I see here.
just finished 2 more kits heres a pic of the prototype, hopefully ill have some pics of the completed kits up in the next few days
Wow! Spoked wheels?! Australian railroads and equipment have always fascinated me. I even had this idea to set my 2 rail O scale layout in Australia. Like a what if scenario, sometime in the future somehow some reason an SP GP60 was sent over to Australia with hastily painted over road #/name and with some certain Australian features.
Sounds good and i didnt know they had any gp60,s here. also the kits i built were the later runs built so dont have the spoked wheels
older aussi stock looks like Brit outline to me. You got my attention as i've just gotten some hornby Ho stuff to run along with a station.
