Looks like since April things have changed....http://www.modelretailer.com/en/The%20Industry/Industry%20News/2011/04/intermountaindistributor.aspx
Rob's announcement says they are not a distributor but an authorized retailer. Note, Rokuahn-USA is a division of Ztrack Magazine Ltd. Rokuhan-USA is not affiliated with Rokuhan Co. Ltd of Japan other than being an authorized retailer for Rokuhan Co Ltd.
Correct, at this time, we are not the US distributor for Rokuhan. We are an authorized retailer of the Rokuhan line. We do enjoy an excellent relationship with Rokuhan and think highly of their current line and future plans. Rob
I don't know Rob...the site kinda says "I'm the authorized exclusive Rokuahn USA Dealer" by the "look" of it. I know we would have a problem if one of MTL's retailers put up a web site that said "MTL USA" and used graphic design that had the look of ours. I got no dog in this, but... Joe wearing my civlian clothes today.
Joe there is always more to a story than just the cover. But don't worry, as an authorized MTL dealer I am going to carry MTL track as well. We are just waiting on our first shipment to come in. Hmmm MTL-USA I wonder if that URL is available... Rob
I figured so. It sorta sounded like Kato and Kato USA...easy for customers to confuse what is going on... If you did that you'd get to see Eric's "I'm not happy face" and trust me, you don't wann see that )
That is exactly what it says... I assume they are making a statement that they'd be a better distributor than Intermountain and provide better brand recognition. The AZL/Ztrack connection was always a little strange too. I guess they just want a piece of all the Z scale sales in the US.
Mike we have always been upfront and straight about our relationships. We have been very proud of our connection to AZL and strongly believe in the line and the goals Hans and Robert. Yes, Ztrack is now much more than a publishing company. It is importing, distribution, retail sales, consulting, and resale. But the key here is that this diversity protects us. It allows the magazine to keep printing and provides the resources to continue our goal of promoting and growing the scale. Just look at Model Railroad News. With no diversity, this fine publication ceased production. We are very grateful for the opportunities presented us and the strong ties we have built as they allow us to weather the storms. As for Rokuhan, they are a company that wants to be number 1 in the world for track. I have no doubt that their line will help grow the scale as new track and options are released. Their goals tie in well with long term plans we have and we are excited to be able to offer their products. The key goal is to make it easier for model railroaders to get started in the scale while eliminating many of the early frustrations we all experience. Good operations is a keys to reducing the frustrations. We hope the new site makes it easier for potential Z scalers to find the line and get started. Rob
"This might be the quote of the year" Mike, I quoted you twice. You are right on the money in this thread!
John, we are anticipating a May release of the crossings. I am planning to put these up online for pre-orders in this week. We do have a separate section on our website for all pre-order items. This way, we can separate these products. Also we now have in stock all available Rokuhan products. Woo hoo! Fedex arrived today and we are happy campers!! Rob
It sure is a great product! We have sold quite a bit of it since we became a Rokuhan retailer last year and I have heard nothing but positive feedback from my customers.
What is sure, they are hyperactive. But perhaps could be good to finish some things before they plan other. I wait for R022/R023 and they are debugging .. debugging .. debugging .. de No reason to show the laboratory, give us the stuff :kiss3:
