A quickie this week, still no shortage of great material to choose from! Geoffrey capured a rare movement of some German steam: Ya'll know I'm a sucker for anything and everything 'Grande, but these are all custom, superdetailed, and Z scale! Thanks, ZFRANK for keeping it real: Mikelhh is a frequent MPOTW nominee, and it's no secret why. Is it real, or is it Memorex? Check out his SD26: Fons Bossaers used John Allen's mirror trick to great advantage at Red Apple Packing: See ya next week!
This week's crop is outstanding. Those Z scale locos are unbelievable - does ZFRANK have trained ants to do the work? Amazing! Mikelhh has once again outdone himself - the rust on that SD26 is right on the money - there's even paint blistering where the rust is not yet visible! Congratulations to everyone featured.
All I can say is WOW! Mike's SD26 is a true work of art. Love the zscale, and the other two are great.
Hemi. Thanks for taking the time to point these photos out. I always enjoy your selections.
Mikelhh has to be cheating!! I think we need to send this photo out to be analyzed, because he has to have used a photo of a prototype. :tb-wink: Seriously, the weathering on that SD26 is mind-blowing.
Yes, the SD26 looks really really good. What amazes me, and we don't give them enough credit, is the people that make the original parts for the molds that are used to get the kind of detail that is on the stanchions, chain, railings, doors, etcetera. There are lots of modelers on the forums that are that talented.
