I began this layout in December of 2011 and have the track laid and wired for DCC. It’s “L” shaped with the long leg 19’ and the short 14’, includes a closet containing the Helix that measures 5’x4’. Presently working on a control panel for 40 switches. Entire layout is Kato UniTrack. There are no reversing loops. Layout was designed to run 6 trains at one time with 2- 3 operators on 1 continuous track. It’s 2 layers high, connected by a dual track helix, 8 loops raising 15”. One track is up and one down. There is a city and station area on the upper level along with a yard. And a yard and industrial area on the lower level on the long leg and a mountain area on the short leg. Here’s the layout design. I’ll post ongoing photos as time permits. Leaning towards a layout name that incorporates using Union Pacific considering that I have 8 engines and they’re all Union Pacific. View attachment 44437 View attachment 44439 View attachment 44440

That's an ambitious undertaking! You've got a lot accomplished in a few months. Sounds like your operators will be hopping, controlling 2-3 trains at a time. Good luck, and please keep the pics coming! Jim
