Does anyone here on TB have any experiance with Mark 4 Design products like there hood kits and other products?
Yes and they are very nice shells. The only down side is they are not as strong as normal plastic shells from manufacturers, but that is easily worked around if you know that going in. I accidently broke one while doing two SD38 conversions because I didn't know that. You can see the crack in the grill near the cab on 6957...
Really nice stuff , but like Brian said be careful with them . I've done 2 SD38's , 2 GP16'sand a bunch of GP38-2's all with great results. The only down side for me is you are getting them from the other side of the earth , takes a few weeks to get them.
Cool! I've been wanting some high hood kits and some cabs for NS Dash-9's from M4D, but I got to wait until my wallet says I can get them and some engines.
I got a few, they are good quality. Only thing I don't like it that they use free standing grabirons, and the rest of my loco fleet is all molded on. Also he has a few shell kits that are not on his site, so email him if you are interested in something he doesn't have listed.
Yup, He's already emailed me back on the GP cabs. I have used his tall short hoods on a couple SD40-2s and I'm building an SD38-2 from one of his shells right now. The work is amazing, worth every penny.
I wonder if his CF7 project ever got off the ground? Rumors had that he pretty much halted model railroading projects once the US economy tanked in '08.
