Just a couple of weeks back, a BNSF S-STPTAC is slowing down as it passes through Columbia Falls, Montana. A few short miles on it will be meeting a three hours late Amtrak #8:

Was this actually a T&P car in real life? What train did it serve? I wish passenger equipment looked this classy today!

It was Texas & Pacific Business Car #1. It then was repainted to MoPac Jenks Blue and renumbered to #9. It has now been restored.

Is the IC&E still an independently operating (subsidiary) company? Or are these just units yet to be repainted?

Visiting family members MADE me take them to the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad, where we rode behind and photographed the ex-McCloud River 2-6-2 No. 25. She runs good and this is a great venue for family--short trips from Garibaldi to Rockaway Beach along Tillamook Bay on the Oregon Coast. Those dang wires are around again.

Little blast from the past- sounthbound NS freight rolling down former CofG trackage on the north side of Macon, GA. And yes, all that greenery is kudzu overing everything but the tracks.

I didn't even notice the wires until they were mentioned. Nice photo anyhow! Sure shows off the short, little drivers. What is her top speed?

IC&E Ceased to exist on Dec 31 2008.After that it became DM&E and then a sub of CP. My checks started out IC&E. Then DM&E and finally CP.I think Hunter is going to dump the IC&E DM&E trackage. Just wait.

They are owned by the CP. So I guess they are waiting for a repaint. Don't know when.

I was standing on a bridge over the tracks when I shot this, and also since I'm a Yankee, I believe that no self-respecting kudzu vine woulda covered me, so I was OK.

Add to that the fact that 30 seconds after I shot this pic, the rain came down heavy- which explains the lighting. So I jumped back into my car & took off back to my apartment, which was within earshot of this very line.

That's not kudzu, that's obviously ground foam over poly fiber!! Ya can't fool me!!!

The lighting and humidity in this shot, along with GreyOne's winter picture a few entries back, sort of look like well done models to me. Interesting effect caused by the haze and snow in the two pictures. Great pictures.

You must be seeing or hearing hints of some nature. Any thoughts as to what is happening?

Everything I've heard from industry people is that between the connections south, ethonol and shale oil, dme/ice is quite profitable for the CP

Ken, I don't know how fast McCloud 25 CAN run, but on the OCSR I doubt if we exceeded 35 mph. It is a leisurely trip and quite family oriented.
