Maybe this is no news to many, but it sure had been to me. CMT is no longer a source for Canadian train stuff. True Line Trains has apparently bought up their remaining inventory. As I had been very much looking forward to the announced CN caboose to be sold exclusively through CMT, this is most unpleasant news for me. That caboose was to be produced by Rapido Trains, Inc. TLT say they are going to honor all CMT preorders made for their own products, including down payments. So I asked Rapido whether they would do the same. I do not have an answer yet. But as I was looking into this, I realized that TLT and Rapido are located in the same place, and they have the same phone number. Thus, while they may be legally separate entities, they are apparently the same company. Interesting construct, but possibly a way to spread the risks in this uncertain business.

At any rate, I wish them all the best! I had already been wondering about the "flood" of great new producers of finest yet affordable model trains. Even more so as there is fnally a source for accurate Canadian prototypes.

That's truly disappointing news Robert (and it WAS news to me). I certainly hope Tom and the gang make out ok. They certainly personified customer service. Wonder what is to become of my deposit on a Pointe St. Charles unit?

    Hi Robert.

True Line Trains and Rapido Trains Inc. share office and warehouse facilities but are most definitely not the same company. Whoever posted our phone number instead of True Line's phone number on the CMT web site was in error. We have an update on how this affects Rapido products posted on our web site - http://www.rapidotrains.com . The whole situation was quite a shock to us as CMT was our biggest customer and they gave no indication that their business was in trouble. I know that Darren at True Line is doing his best to help all of the customers that contact him and to sort through the jumble.

    Best regards,

    Jason
