Not a very good picture today really grainy, it was washed out so picasa did the best it could.. Taken in 2007. I'm not even sure which Camera I used.

I was on a business trip. We had flown into Denver, picket up some Satellite Head end equipment, put it in a U-Haul and driven it up to Cheyenne were we installed it at the Echostar facility that's right next to the UP main.

We stayed at a resort that was relatively close to the yard at Cheyenne.
I want to say it was early November and cold as all heck to a guy that had been living in San Diego for 3 years.

Driving through town I saw the Big Boy sitting in the park and Grabbed a shot.

Here is another display engine, at Huntington,WV. It says Elk River Coal & Lumber Co.,but I think it came from the Bufflo Creek & Gauley in WV.

We should soon be having days as this one. I love the crisp air. Everything seems seems so sharply focused. A slight breeze, leaves rustling and rolling along. Perfect train chasing weather.

The problem with Roseville Ca is that temps stay in the 90s through most of September, possibly into Oct. They fall slowly and then you might get a day or 2 of real fall weather before the Rains come for the Winter. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year to do everything and I cannot stand this.

A cold winter day of 1989. Rain, drizzle, fog. Still a very large number of folks turned out to watch or chase. This was the Washington State Centennial Train, here passing through Monroe, en route to Wenatchee for celebrations there:

Wow, some nice shots there, guys. Russell, nice NY Central stuff. The only thing that would improve it would be a 4-8-4 Niagara in place of the E units. Looks like a Milwaukee Road bag car in the background. 4449 always looks good, Ken. That Elk River engine, is that the one alongside the former B&O depot in Huntington? And YoHo, 4004--the one in Denver? Or Cheyenne? I must go find something to add to this neat collection.

Thanks. And the Missouri Pacific cars right behind the NYC train. Must have been a special or something. MoPac did not normally get into Chicago before they bought the C&EI.

Here is the same loco that Curtis presented, but this was taken back in 1993, when she bore different ID, numbers, and was an advertisement for the restaurant then in the old B&O depot. My wife Sharon on the pilot. Almost forgot I had this. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
