Hello all, Has anyone used the Bachmann Northeast caboose for any projects? Do they disassemble easily? Mainly, is it possible to get the windows out without damaging them? I've used the new RS-3 for a few projects recently and it was a bit of a pain to work with because the cab couldn't be removed and the windows had to be masked to during repainting. I would like to get a few of these, strip them, and repaint them in the Western Maryland schemes that weren't offered. Thanks for the help!
Short answer is yes.. Bachmann used glue to attach the windows but working a hobby knife around the edges and prying will pop them out from the inside. The hardest part for me was removing the railing and ladders from the roof as they are glued as well. I have one more to do, this time I will just slice them from the roof instead of trying to pop them out.
