Just like the thread says. Does anyone need one? Check out the latest announcement from FVM! http://www.foxvalleymodels.com/image...12transfer.jpg
Cool if you model Milwaukee but for the rest of us. http://www.bluford-shops.com/bluford_93_007.htm Looks pretty good, I'll have to start saving nickels!! 2slim
I'll have to settle for a spare Moloco kit of a Frisco transfer caboose. Fortunately, where I'm modeling, I can use converted Santa Fe crummies and get away with it. Those caboose models DO look pretty nice, though- if I modeled MP, I'd definitely get me a few "doghouse" cabooses! Shot this pic of a simlarly-painted SP transfer hack at Shawnee, OK, on the Arkansas- Oklahoma RR (former Rock Island) in December 2009. I wondered about this paint scheme- the ad depicting the "Daylight" transfer caboose helps solve things. Juddging by the lettering on the top left of the end, this MAY BE the One-Spot.
Nice models, but rather steep prices, particularly for the Fox Valley model in HO! I've kitbashed my own transfer cabooses for a fraction of those prices and I'd venture so could any model railroader worth his salt. After all, aren't we supposed to be modelers? NYW&B
Yes, steep prices, but both models are a nice alternative for those who don't really have great kit bashing skills... Not everybody is a super modeler....
Yep sure do need a couple of these; but since I don't model "Milw" road I'm going with Bluford or Craig as I did for the N scale model. Southern Pacific is my road and Craig got my purchases. I think it was a smart idea to come out with more than just one road The Southern Pacific still lives in my world
Steve and I are flying to Denver to repaint an old MoPac hack in Rio Grande orange so think again Jim Fitch!
Nice catch! One slight correction though; SP 1, and the MoPac short body cabooses that inspired it, were not transfer cabooses. They were full-blown road-service cabs...just with shorter bodies. Also, SP 1 was one-of-a-kind, done as an in-house rebuild of an older caboose: http://espee.railfan.net/sp_c-50-10.html
