I got to run trains on a friends HO layout this week. He models the SP's old Houston & Texas Central line between Dallas and Houston during the transition era.
These are the first cars that I have completed in the month of December! Walther's 10,000 Gal Tank Car Kit, painted with Floquil Dark Blue and lettered with Champ Decals. Continueing on my READING RR kick, another Con-Cor ex-AHM 2929 CF Covered Hopper kit, replaced cast Sill Steps with A-Line substitutes and added an airline under the side of the car. Painted ScaleCoat II MofW Gray and lettered with Herald King decals, car in in sugar service on the READING. The first of 4 cars from a Microscale Decal Set, the IMRC 4650CF Covered Hopper was the easiest of the 4 cars that I have to build on this set of decals. Car Painted with ScaleCoat II MofW Gray paint. Thanks for looking! Rick J
Russell: I love that SP action! Here's Rio Grande 2-8-0 #1159 doing some switching at the cattle pen at Wagon Wheel Gap. It's October, and time to move the cattle from high summer pasturage back down to the ranches in the foothills. Tom
That's such a realistic setting you have there, Tom. Nice work. I'm still dipping into archival material...sorry. Won't change any time soon, either.
Here's an area I just completed last week. Its hard to see but there is "water" coming out of pipe & running down hill. Also, I hope everyone says a prayer for all the Conn. kids. God bless their souls!
It's been a long time since I have Weekend Photo Funned, so I'm probably pushing more photos than I should. But finally after over two years, the scenery in Frostbite Falls on the Rochester and Richmond is complete!! But venture not past the east (left) town limits lest ye pass the edge of the Earth and plummet even unto the tile floored abyss. Now that this section done I can get to work on the next and final major benchwork section. And finally, evening falls .... George V.
Very commendable, George. Very nice, indeed. I get the wintry blues just looking at your nice modelling.
I picked up my Atlas Western Pacific GP7 from Chuck at Feather River on Saturday: And, I received a Kato JR EH10 as well:
