The latest issue of Trains (2/2013) has a map of the Mohawk Division as it is today, and its past and present interchanges.

Also, Grand Central Terminal is the feature article.

    Both worth the price.

Darn, I don't subscribe anymore, and that's my home country. As a kid it was four track mainline, two eastbound, two westbound, one of each for passenger and freight. I have been back to hometown Little Falls and seen the two CSX tracks and a third that may be used as a siding. Sad. Hank, do they show the old interchange at Little Falls for the Dolgeville and Salisbury branch?

    Fitz -

Yes they do show the Dolgeville branch and note it as being abandoned in 1964. I also enjoyed seeing this feature as I am originally from Mohawk. Even after we left the Valley, we returned frequently to visit so I am very familiar with the area and saw many changes to the railroads in the area. In fact I was surprised to see the notation about the NYS Thruway bridge collapse between Fultonville and Amsterdam on April 5, 1987. They used the old West Shore railroad bridge as part of the detour around the area during the reconstruction period. I was returning from a wedding that day going east on the Thruway in torrential rains and we were caught in the the traffic and lengthy delay and detour shortly after the collapse. That area also created my interest for the railroads I model. NYC, PC, Conrail, NYS&W as well as PRR, LV and L&HR.
