:teeth:Hello I recently discovered the fantastic American Z scale, and can't wait to receive my first SD40-2 and tracks I bought online. In Europe we are manipulated by Marklin and his old school of Z scale, but i've always been a lover of the colossal American trains, but i never found the space to build a layout in HO or N....but in Z I can do it..... tnx and sorry for my English. seeya! Alessandro
Hi Alessandro, Welcome to the TrainBoard, we glad to have you onboard. Your English is very good, easy to understand, so do not worry about communicating on the TrainBoard. I think the products available for Z-Scale are outstanding, but at my age I should be in O-Scale, or G-Scale.
Good to have you along! I think that's a great choice for a first loco, I always personally liked the look of the SD40-2.
Welcome to Trainboard! I have been on business trips to Italy many times in the last 3 years, and like the country very much. I love their red wine, pizza, pasta, and gelato!
Bongiorno Alessandro. Welcome here, there's a bunch of fellow Zscalers here, some beeing really talented. I think you're at the good adress:wink:! Myself I'm just beyond the Alps, and I mostly rely on recent Z scale productions for my current layout (and my future one): Micro-Trains, AZL, Full Throttle, Intermountain, Fast-Tracks, etc... And don't forget to choose a real good controller if you want nice slow speed caracteristics. Mine is from Passmann but Zthek and Jörger release excellent stuff as well... Dom
Thanks everyone for the welcome! I live in Florence (Tuscany). Thanks to your forum, I learned many things. can't wait to start my projects in Z Alessandro
Welcome Alessandro! I was in Italy at Aviano for a couple of months in 2011. Too bad you didn't join then!
Hi Andrew really you where at Aviano? I've been to Aviano last year in March to take some pictures at the C-17 the amazing Globemaster.
