Hopefully this will be a log of the design and construction of the fourth version of the EMHVRR over the last 30 years. This layout coming after an 18 year break. The purely fictional HO scale line will have a double track main and a figure-eight short line built in a 15x11 bedroom. Alot of my equipment was damaged when brought back from Germany in '97, so I hope I can fix it. the attached pics are of the plan, a couple of damaged reefers, and some other rolling stock.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

It looks as though you'll be filling that room quite thoroughly!

thoroughly filled indeed, with impossible turnouts, angles and grades as well.
And what is your schematic? A point-to point with a doubletrack oval and a figure 8 in between?

As Paul indicated, this plan is completely unbuildable, to the extent that I recommend scrapping the plan altogether and starting with a clean slate.

Instead of a track plan, why don't we start with more fundamental things, like goals. What do you want your layout to do, other than completely fill the space you have?

Up on legs today. Still needs crossbraced etc. Please don't worry too much about the trackplan I am not a drafter, or able to do technical drawings. The ideas is for a folded figure eight with a small yard. I am not too concerned about switching, just want to watch the trains go round with the grand kids. The wife is already looking into HO scale Thomas Tank engines. ;)
