    That brings back memories, and funnily enough I was talking about them with others not long ago. I remember I lost interest in building radio kits (14 yrs old) when they did away with them and introduced the 3 legged transistor and printed circuit board. Took all the fun out of it. No more flickering filaments and few wires to solder. Boring.

    Here is a gigantic beetle. We found it at Rail Camp at the Museum one year and the kids wanted it on the train.

    I still have the short wave radio kit I built nearly fifty years ago. Last time I tried it, the darned thing still worked.
